How to Reveal Results
Build suspense and reveal your contest winners with a dramatic reveal page designed for maximum impact.
Step 1: Close Your Contest
Before revealing results, you need to close the contest:
- Navigate to your contest dashboard
- Change the contest status from "Open" to "Closed"
- This stops new votes from being submitted
- Results can only be revealed when the contest is closed
Step 2: Make Results Visible
Once your contest is closed:
- Go to the Results Control page (accessible from your contest dashboard)
- Click "Make Results Visible" or toggle the visibility setting
- This makes results accessible to judges/voters and participants
- Results will show winners, rankings, and score breakdowns (format varies by contest type)
Step 3: Use the Reveal Page
For a dramatic reveal experience:
- From the Results Control page, click "Reveal Winners"
- The reveal page format depends on your contest type:
For Judged Voting Contests:
- Top 3 winners with rankings (or more with ties)
- Category winners (best in each scoring category)
- Weighted score breakdowns
- Detailed scoring information
For Simple Voting Contests:
- Position winners (winner for each position)
- Vote counts and percentages for each position
- Tied winners are shown as co-winners when multiple entries have the same number of votes
- Visual display of vote results
- Both reveal formats include confetti animations and are perfect for displaying on a TV or projector during your event
- The reveal page is designed for both mobile and large screens
Step 4: Share Results
Results can be accessed by:
- Public Results Page: Share the contest code - anyone can view results once visible
- Reveal Page: Use the dramatic reveal page for live events
Tips
- Build Suspense: Close the contest before revealing to build anticipation
- Live Reveal: Use the reveal page on a large screen for dramatic effect
- Gradual Reveal: For judged voting, you can reveal third place first, then second, then first
- Export Results: Download results as CSV or PDF for records or printing
- Ties:
- For judged voting: The system handles ties automatically using weighted category scores
- For simple voting: All entries with the maximum number of votes are shown as co-winners
Troubleshooting
- Can't reveal?: Make sure the contest status is "Closed"
- No results?: Ensure at least some judges (for judged voting) or voters (for simple voting) have submitted scores or votes
- Results not visible?: Check that you've toggled "Make Results Visible" in Results Control
